We think Tequila Sunrises and Rock n Roll are two ingredients necessary for a wild night, and the Rolling Stones agree! Fun Fact: way back when before most of us were even of legal drinking age, the English rock band made this combo famous during their 1972 tour, which was nicknamed the “Cocaine and Tequila Sunrise Tour.” Rumor has it that before kicking off the 1972 tour at the Trident in San Francisco, the band was introduced to the Jose Cuervo Tequila Sunrise. The rockers loved it, and the rest was history. 43 years later Jose Cuervo is throwing it back and reminding us that The Stone’s legendary hits sound best with a Tequila Sunrise in hand!
Recently the popular tequila company released two special edition bottles featuring the famous Rolling Stones logo, along with an advertising campaign to remind folks of “the tour that became a legend” and “the drink that fueled it.” If this new bottle doesn’t put you in the mood for some old time rocking roll, we aren’t sure anything really will. So mix yourself up a classic Tequila Sunrise with this recipe, throw on the Stones and enjoy your Monday night!
