New and Fairly NoteworthyIt’s all a mystery. The Glenlivet has launched The Glenlivet Alpha, a so-called “blind whiskey.” The scotch will be released without cask information, tasting notes or any other info. The opaque black bottles will cost you a bit ($120) but there are only 3500 bottles out there so it’s definitely worth it. Plus, master distiller Alan Winchester will reveal the secret behind the whiskey in June. We’re dying to know.

They’re calling it the best combo since happy and hour. UV Vodka introduced their latest flavor, Salty Watermelon, just in time for summer cocktails. Not into the sweet/savory taste? UV also added Peach to their flavor collection. Both are available this month for $12.99 a bottle. Cheap vodka drinkers, rejoice.

Element Brewing Co. of Massachusetts has added a gluten-free beer to their repertoire. Plasma (yes, we’re serious) is a blend of IPA and sake that’s brewed with, get this, brown rice. The 9.33% ABV brew will be available on draft this month in New England with bottles to follow in the summer months.

You know how we feel about coconut beer, and there’s another to add to our must-have list. Black Raven Brewing teamed up with Midnight Sun Brewing to brew their collaboration, Sun of a Beak Imperial Bourbon Barrel Coconut Porter. The beer will debut at the Black Raven Brewery taproom this Saturday. With a name like that, it better be good.
