We all have that one friend who reaches for a wine spritzer rather than a beer. We usually give them a ration of you know what. That was until we tried a homemade wine spritzer and (begrudgingly) admitted it wasn’t that bad.

Though wine spritzers are typically a summer favorite, they work any time of year. Try one of these recipes and you’ll probably keep your mouth shut the next time your friend reaches for a spritzer.

Clementine and Red Wine SpritzerScreen Shot 2014-01-13 at 5.41.03 PM

  • 1 bottle of red wine
  • 2 bottles clementine soda
  • Ice

Peach White Wine SpritzerScreen Shot 2014-01-13 at 5.42.46 PM

Cheap white wine is made for spritzer lovers. This recipe calls for peach and blueberries to create a crisp but fruity flavor to accompany the wine. Here’s what you need:

  • 1 cup white wine (cheap but still good to taste)
  • ½ cup club soda
  • 5-6 slices frozen peaches
  • Handful of fresh blueberries

Rose & Pomegranate Wine SpritzerSpritzer

Rose has the fruitiness that every good spritzer is looking for without being too much. This recipe pairs Rose with pomegranates to achieve and equal balance of tart and sweet.

  • 500 ml Rose
  • 250 ml soda water
  • Pomegranate seeds

Wine spritzers may look and sound ridiculous but they’re damn delicious. Try these and you’ll agree.
