Do you ever find yourself bored with your go-to booze? When you’ve grown tired of that mundane drink order, we’ll be here to talk you through what’s new and noteworthy this week…
MadTree Brewing: After feeling all the love from last year’s release in fall 2015, MadTree Brewing is releasing their newest seasonal beer, Blood Orange PsycHOPathy. This time IN CANS. With a splash of real Blood Orange juice into the original PsycHOPathy IPA the brew has just the right amount of citrus umph. The 6.2% ABV and 72 IBU drink is all wrapped up in one of the sexiest cans on the shelf.
Ochre Frumento: Green Flash Brewing Co. is experiencing so much success with this rare beer that they placed a $2 bottle purchase limit at their release on September 17th in San Diego, CA. The Barley Wine, called Ochre Frumento, has been aged for total of 6-years in brandy and then bourbon barrels. Pouring a deep brown, the brew presents a sharp aroma and is uniquely complex. Look out for its next release and beat the line!
Mr. Boston: Being from Boston ourselves, our ears particularly perked up for this one. The Mr. Boston Official Bartender’s Guide, having sat on bars across the world and sometimes referred to as the “Bible of Booze” has finally caught up to us 21st-Century folk. Now digitalized, its website mrbostondrink.com/ contains more than 10,500 drink recipes original to those found in the ‘old-fashioned’ printed books! This is the kind of history we like.
RAFT Botanical Syrups: Based out of Portland, OR, RAFT Syrups announced its launch of its Essentials line just last week. The line of basic syrups, coming in six flavors—Simple, Vanilla, Lime, Ginger, Grenadine, and Orgeat— use all natural organic cane sugar with no preservatives or ‘extra ingredients.’ Perfect for all mixies.
Pink Gin: The Bitter Truth’s Pink Gin is back at it again to do good. For the second time, the premium cocktail bitters, spirits and liqueurs brand is fundraising to benefit breast cancer research. With every bottle sold for the entire month of October, the campaign promises to contribute $2 to the cause. Co-founder stated, “We already make a pink product, so for us, it felt natural that we should contribute to such a worthy mission.” We like the way they think!
Gingerbread Cream: Never too early to start celebrating the holidays, they say. Sazerac agrees. The company jumped ahead of the holiday craze by releasing the news of Granny’s Gingerbread Cream last week. The gingerbread spice with brown sugar notes and natural vanilla flavor really couldn’t be a better gift! Find it in stores come October.
