Flavored vodka is one of the best inventions of all time – right up there with the light bulb, the wheel and Taco Bell’s Baja sauce – but up until now, the flavors have been pretty tame. More recent popular vodka flavors have been mostly sweet; whipped cream, marshmallow, cake, cotton candy, fruit loops. That’s lovely, but what if you like your drinks to be a little unique? Cue Wasabi vodka from ODDKA Vodka, part of the Polish vodka brand Wyborowa owned by Pernod Ricard.
Wasabi-flavored vodka is among the five flavors (plus their original flavor) being introduced by ODDKA that are meant to inspire experimentation and self-expression. These aren’t your average vodka flavors, for sure. Fresh off their press release, here’s how they describe the inventive vodkas:

Wasabi: This tribute to the spicy burn of the sharp Asian condiment will satisfy your craving for something fiery. Tell us you’re not curious about these cocktail suggestions (then we’ll call you a liar.)
Check out their site for other cocktail recipes.

Fresh Cut Grass: Nothing beats this home-mown taste; it’s crisp, citrusy, sweet and refreshing.

Salty Caramel Popcorn: If ODDKA were a movie, this flavor would be a caramel comedy with a sea salt subplot and a warm, feel-good ending.

Apple Pie: For when you desperately yearn for the sweet taste of apples and cinnamon and can’t get one of grandma’s apple pies.

Electricity: A bolt of lightening in a bottle – but safer; tickling the taste buds and sparking curiosity everywhere, to our knowledge they didn’t slip anything harder in there.

Wasabi is the first thing on our shopping list, but we’re definitely intrigued by Electricity. If you combine Electricity vodka with Red Bull, will you spontaneously combust? As for Fresh Cut Grass, if we wanted to drink grass, we’d brew some of our own. Apple Pie and Salty Caramel Popcorn sound good, but too standard to be from the ODDKA brand.
