The time has come. It’s the unofficial last weekend of summer and we’re celebrating with a classic: The Bramble. Once called the cosmopolitan of the U.K., it’s somewhat of a rarity on cocktail menus in the U.S. We can’t seem to figure out why since it’s so damn delicious.
The cocktail starts out as a simple gin drink but the real flavor comes from the sweet liqueur added at the end. You’ll need:
- 1.5 oz. gin
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- .5 oz. simple syrup
- 1 oz. black liqueur (crème de mure)
- Fresh blackberries
Combine gin, lemon juice and simple syrup. Fill with crushed ice. Pour liqueur on top and garnish with blackberries. Sip and enjoy.
