We’ve been to our share of bachelor parties and while we realize that a lot of you go out to a bar or club for your drinks, we also know that there are some dudes that like to chill at home before getting crazy. While everyone in your party gathers and gears up for the night, why not have some special occasion drinks? Yes, we know that on any other night just having a fridge stocked with beer would be cool, but this isn’t “any other night” – this is your friend’s last night as a single man. Well, he’s not technically single… but you know what we mean.
The James Bond Vesper Martini
James Bond is the king of all bachelors, so it’s only fitting to drink like him during a bachelor party. These instructions come directly from the mouth of James Bond in Ian Flemming’s book “Casino Royale”:
Shake the following ingredients together with ice until the mixture is ice-cold:
- 3 oz. Gordon’s London dry gin
- 1 oz. Vodka
- 1/2 oz. Lillet
Strain into a martini glass and add a lemon peel as garnish.
The Stinger
If you want to celebrate your friend’s pending nuptials with a fine cigar, you need the right cocktail to pair with it. Many men just go with scotch, but The Stinger is for when you want to try something a little different without going overboard.
- Combine 2 oz. cognac and 1/2 oz. creme de menthe in a shaker half-filled with ice. Shake for about 30 seconds.
- Strain into a cocktail glass that has been chilled or strain into an old-fashioned glass that has been filled with crushed ice.
- Add a mint garnish and a small straw if you decide to serve it in the old-fashioned glass.
Bacon Bourbon Cocktail
You’re going to be the hero of the bachelor party if you show up with the ingredients for a bacon bourbon cocktail. It requires bacon-infused bourbon, so you’re going to have to make that at home ahead of time, but we promise it will be worth it. If you’re feeling home-maker-ish, make a few extra bottles for the rest of the guys to take home.
Shake up these ingredients, strain into an ice-filled glass and garnish with a slice of cooked bacon:
- 1 1/2 oz. bacon-infused bourbon
- 1/2 oz. maple syrup
- 3 oz. ginger beer
