We’re not the type of people who need a reason to drink. If we’re breathing, that’s reason enough. But for those who need more, here you go:
1. National Tequila Day – Sunday, July 24th is national tequila day. Whether it’s a margarita or a tequila sunrise, this weekend calls for some salt and limes.
2. Tales of the cocktail – This week started the 9th annual Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans. The cocktail convention is the place to be with over 20,000 attendees from all over the world. Seminars, competitions and of course…free tastings are all a guaranteed good time. For those lucky enough to attend, enjoy the big easy and for those not, drink like you are.
3. Heat wave ‘11 – Whether you’re in Florida or New York or somewhere in between, it’s been pretty (insert F word) hot this week. States are seeing triple digits and this weekend will be the peak of the heat wave. Stay cool and most of all hydrated….with cocktails that is.
4. Comic con. – Right now the International Comic Conference is in full swing at the San Diego convention center. Star-wars fans, Twilight die-hards and gamers unite for a weekend of their favorite celebs and sci-fi seminars. Raise your glasses to your favorite super heroes and their faithful followers.
5. Charlie Sheen’s New Sitcom – He’s baaaack. Charlie sheen isn’t leaving the spotlight just yet. Only in Hollywood can you make millions off of personal failure. The new show is appropriately titled “Anger management” based off of the 2003 Adam Sandler movie. Although Charlie should probably lay off the booze, you may need substantial amounts to enjoy this train wreck.
