The birds are chirping, the sun is (hopefully) shining—it’s finally Easter! Whether you’re spending this spring day with friends or with your family, everyone enjoys a traditional Easter cocktail. But this year, we’re mixing things up a bit with chocolate Easter bunny Jell-o shots. That’s right, you heard us. Chocolate. Easter bunny. Jell-o. Shots.
You’ll need:
- 1 box of Jell-o
- vodka (or your liquor of choice)
- hollow Easter bunny chocolates
- ½ cup of chocolate for melting
- whipped cream (optional)
- sprinkles (optional)
First, you’ll want to gently cut off the bunny ears, revealing the chocolates’ hollow insides. As tempting as it may be, don’t eat the tops—simply set them aside. Now, make the drunken Jell-o mix by replacing the water with vodka (or another liquor of your preference). Let the Jell-o cool at room temperature, not in the refrigerator.
While it cools, melt the cup of chocolate. Dip each bunny’s bottom into the cooled melted chocolate and place standing up on wax paper; this will prevent any leaks. When the Jell-o is cool, fill up the bunnies and put them in the fridge for a few hours until Jell-o sets completely. Place some whipped cream (and sprinkles) on top of the Jell-o and then put the bunnies’ ears back on their heads; the whipped cream will hold them in place. Serve and enjoy!
