Why stop at National Tequila Day, when you can celebrate National Tequila Week? We certainly are. While Mexico may prefer La Paloma as their tequila breakfast drink, us DIAers like to have options.
The Bloody Maria is a popular rendition of the Bloody Mary that substitutes the traditional vodka with tequila. This switch definitely makes a difference, since the tequila adds a spicy flavor that vodka lacks.
Here’s our favorite recipe:
- 2 oz Tequila
- 1 tsp Horseradish
- 3 dashes Tabasco sauce
- 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 1 dash lime juice
- 3 dashes celery salt
- 3 dashes pepper
- Tomato juice
You can garnish the Bloody Maria with celery, lemon, lime, cucumber or whatever other staples you love in your Bloody Mary.
Cheers,
Casey
